Bible Verse of the Day, Saturday 8th March 2025
Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for gathering us together in Your presence. As we open Your Word, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom. Help us to understand the calling You’ve placed on our lives and give us hearts that are eager to share the message of Christ. May Your Spirit empower us to live boldly for You, bringing light to those who have yet to know Your love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Bible Verse: Romans 15:19-20 (NIV)
“By the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.”
Focus Message:
Paul’s passion for spreading the gospel reminds us of our mission as believers. He didn’t just share the message where it was convenient — he intentionally sought out people who had never heard of Jesus. His confidence wasn’t in his own abilities but in the power of the Holy Spirit working through him. We are called to be vessels of that same Spirit, sharing the love and truth of Christ with those who need it most, whether in our communities or to the ends of the earth.
Lessons:
1. The Power of the Holy Spirit: Paul’s ministry was successful not because of human strength, but because of the Spirit’s power working through him. We can trust that God will equip us when we step out in faith.
2. A Heart for the Lost: Paul’s ambition was to preach to those who had never heard of Christ. We, too, are called to have a heart for those who don’t yet know Jesus, whether nearby or far away.
3. Building New Foundations: Sharing the gospel isn’t about personal recognition — it’s about building something new for God’s kingdom. Even small acts of faithfulness can help lay a foundation for someone else’s faith journey.
Bible References:
Acts 1:8 — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Matthew 28:19-20 — “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”
1 Corinthians 3:6-7 — “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for calling us to be part of Your mission. Fill us with the power of Your Holy Spirit so that we may boldly share the gospel with those who don’t know You. Give us hearts that break for the lost and the courage to step into new places for the sake of Your kingdom. May we always rely on Your strength, trusting that You are working through us to bring others to Christ. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
